The Iridium network is a truly global coverage - a service that no other satellite network can provide. The Iridium Satellite will provide coverage across all ocean area's air routes, all landmasses, and even the poles!

We had the choice to offer phones on different satellite networks, but they didn't measure up! Globalstar, Thuraya and Inmarset are the competing networks, that unfortunately have limited coverage, and some of these handsets that you'd need two people to carry!
